Sand Dollar Motel of Ocracoke

My husband and I were not able to leave Okracoke Island due to bad wind, and we stayed at the Sand Dollar Motel until we could leave the next day. Jill (the owner) was super sweet and accommodating and had a room available right away. I had never stayed at a motel before and was nervous due to things you hear, but the Sand Dollar Motel was super cute, cozy and very clean! I was very impressed! It felt like I was staying in a room at a friend’s house, not a motel! The bathroom was clean, had plenty of towels with washcloths, shampoo, body wash and hand soap. The floors and wall were clean and very well maintained. There was a smart TV on the wall, a kuerig coffee maker, a microwave and mini fridge, all of them super clean! The perfect place to stay on the island. Clean, comfortable, and just so much fun. We absolutely love this place and the owners. April is such an amazing time to come too, with the mild weather and wonderful breeze. I cannot say enough about how great it is.

Beautiful small, cozy hotel. Very clean and extremely comfortable. They make you feel at home. If, I could take the bed home, I would have. We very much enjoyed our stay last night, and plan on returning in the spring.

Just finished a two night stay. Room was spectacularly clean. Extremely comfortable bed. Service was the best. A wonderful place to stay while on the island. Different types of rooms for unique needs. The owners are the best....friendly and accommodating.

This is the sweetest most adorable environment. This is the way to take in Ocrscoke Island. It’s like staying at a local person’s home but with our own motel room. Clean, cozy, up to date. Jill told us where to eat, how to get around and during the snow storm provided a grand breakfast. So accommodating with our needs because we weren’t sure how long we’d be staying. The location is near to restaurants and shops. We felt welcomed and appreciated!
