Customer Reviews
My student and I stayed at the Cartwright Hotel in Union Square for two nights. We each paid $185 for the two nights, which seems like a lot for what we got. The people at the desk were friendly upon our arrival, but I had called ahead to ask about the refrigerators in the rooms, and someone said that every room had a fridge. That was not true. There were no fridges unless you asked for one. At first, they were going to charge me $5/night for the fridge, but I complained because I had called ahead just about this. The room was small, but adequate for two, unrelated people (we had 2 twin beds). There was a heater and we could open the windows (in February) so we could control the temperature. They brought me extra pillows and an extra blanket, which was nice. The problem with the r
This hotel is great. Clean, well equipped. I had a queen room: small bathroom but nice towels. Comfortable bed and a very nice little sofa seat built into the room corner. Coffee machine. No fridge or microwave. But only $100/night, 2 blocks from Union Square and right off Grant Ave and Powell. Parking is actually $40/night including tax so for $150 you get a really nice hotel in a fabulous location.
Our stay at the property was exceptional. The location was perfect for shopping and had stunning views. The facilities were top-notch, including great amenities, Wi-Fi, and a comfortable sleep experience. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.Overall, a fantastic choice for couples looking for a convenient and enjoyable stay.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights.the location was good, we learnt to use the public transport quite easily. There are a number of food places around the area, we could walk to- which was great. The downfall was that the bathroom was quite small, no water pressure or fans in there. We had no fridge to store food and there was no safe in the room to store valuables.
I've stayed over the thanksgiving weekend for the last 2 years at the Cartwright Hotel. The rooms are pretty darn nice, very updated, lovely wooden floors, marble bathroom, the most luxe comfortable beds, in room coffee, and coffee ( good coffee) in the morning in the lobby, Nice smart TV in room. Half a block from Union Square, so close to China Town and Nob Hill. All the places we want to go. But the thing I like the very most is how sweet the people who work there are. Honestly, so kind and always helpful. The hallways are dated, ( this is an antique building after all) The Lobby is very modern and full of light. Overall a pleasant and inexpensive place to stay.
