The California - Hollywood

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience genuinely shocked me. During my previous stay, the owner approached me and said that my feet smelled and that other guests had complained. This was deeply embarrassing and handled in a way that felt unnecessary and humiliating. I showered daily, maintained proper hygiene, and even placed my shoes outside at the owner’s request. Despite complying fully, I was made to feel singled out and uncomfortable. That alone would have been unpleasant but manageable. What is completely unacceptable is what happened next. I booked again for tonight. The booking was confirmed. Only later did they realise it was me and then messaged to say I was no longer allowed to stay — effectively cancelling at the last minute and leaving me stranded without acco

Great place to stay. It's close to walk of fame, host is polite and he lives there so he is available for support. The rooms have AC and a balcony, easy access to the house using eletronic lock only. 3 bathrooms, kitchen and not too many people, so it's a quiet place do be. There's no big locker's in the room if you like to use it but there's small lockers in the common area.

Great location close to metro station that connects you to the entire city, super friendly owners and rooms have good air conditioning. Kitchen has everything that's needed and there are many bathrooms so there's always at least one that's free. I can't recommend enough :)

Great place. Very respectful guests and host. Close walk to Hollywood Blvd, Ralphs, Trader Joe's. Amoeba Music and the Museum of Death were my favorite nearby attractions. Also, Griffith Park and Observatory are fairly close. Nice nature area, if you would like to get away from the concrete jungle.

I can't recommend this place enough! It was extremely affordable and far enough away from the walk of Fame that it felt safe and it was quiet. The owner was very sweet and made sure I had everything I needed. They have lockers but it felt safe enough that I could just leave my bag in the room and didn't have any issues. If you're looking for a good hostel that's in a safe neighborhood and that has all the amenities you'll need, this is the place for you! If I ever come back to LA I will be staying here again.
