The Boardwalk Hotel & Bar

What a cute little place! We checked in late coming back from the island, and were surprised with an upgraded room! The gentleman helping us was extremely kind and helped us get in. The rooms are renovated beautifully and ours was very clean! They were hosting a band in the bar and it was super busy and looked like a lot of fun but we were pretty sweaty and tired from running around all day so we decided to hang back in our room. It wasn’t too noisy at all, and wrapped up at a decent time! Overall very impressed with this place, we will definitely be back!

Be sure to inquire if there will be live music scheduled during your stay, and stay anywhere but the Boardwalk Hotel if there is! My partner and I checked in at the hotel after a long day of travel and were excited to get a good night sleep. However, we were kept up well after 10 pm due to extremely loud music being played in the lobby. We were told the music would end at 10 but it continued for some time after and was so loud we could hear it clearly two floors up. The next morning we were feeling exhausted and frustrated and just wanted to enjoy breakfast at the very least. We were then approached by the owner while we ate and he informed us that someone had left a negative review due to the volume of the music. We had heard so many great things about this place and it did not disappoint. The location was perfect, the room was awesome and the staff was incredible. We stayed 3 nights and stopped in the lounge each night when we got back, it was so much fun. The owner, Charlie was there every time working or entertaining the crowd and Shannon was making our drinks and getting our food. Just fantastic! We had an issue with the bill after we left and Charlie fixed it immediately. We're already planning our next trip.

Absolutely loved this hotel! My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. The hosts were beyond attentive, the drinks and ambiance in the Fireworx bar were perfect and the rooms were well appointed. We stayed in the Mad Men room in July 2025 and I can honestly say, that was the best night's sleep I'd had in years. The mattress and bedding were beyond comfortable. And the bath towels? Don't get me started! I had to look them up to see where I could buy some for home - the plushest, softest, most absorbent bath towel I've ever encountered. We had the best time, and the location was steps away from all the best restaurants and places in St. Ignace. Bonus view of the Fireworks right from the hotel bar on Saturday night. We will absolutely be back!

Bringing a piece of history to life. Absolutely amazing stay at this boutique hotel. Met the owners and they were wonderful. They were so kind to our daughter with her picky eating. Well appointed, good food (the olives and the hummus plate), friendly service. Book a room with the oversized pillows, they are the best pillows ever! Great breakfast options at two locations. We even changed our plans and went back for a second night!
