Surf and Sand Fernandina Beach at Amelia Island, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Incredibly comfortable, inviting, friendly atmosphere. The staff was so nice and obliging. There was an electrical outage the last night I was there, and they were extremely helpful with getting me to my room if I needed to. Clean! The breakfast offered was DELICIOUS, and I cannot believe that you have a coffee machine that has BOLD COFFEE OPTION!! That right there sealed the deal for my next visit! Excellent hotel. (Oh! Enjoyed the workout room too!)

Booked a reservation through booking and showed up to the hotel and not only did they not have our reservation , but there was no manager or supervisor able to assist the front desk personnel. This is the second experience that has been horrible here. The front desk personnel told me I had to call booking to figure out why surf and sand didn’t have our reservation. Unfortunately the GM was not in town or able to be reached by phone. Horrible customer service, and we drove over an hour to stay on Amelia Island. Would highly not recommend staying at surf & sand. We waisted an hour on the phone and still was unable to accommodate our stay.

We visited the Sand and Sea the first weekend of Oct. The check in was very easy with a great young lady at the desk. Paying to park is a little much. We have been coming to Fernandina a couple times a year for more than 30 years. We have never had to pay to park at a hotel or condo! But that said--our room was comfortable and quiet. Room is only serviced by request. No chairs or towels to use at the beach--you can rent chairs and umbrella for your visit. We only did breakfast one morning, we were there 4 days. Breakfast is 7:30-9:30. The morning we went at 9. There were only eggs. Nothing had been refilled. No milk for cereal. A little disappointing but it could have been corrected easily with a little attention. I can't say things were awful we were just expecting a little more.

This is a nice hotel for the price point. Rooms were cool and clean, just a little worn with scratches and paint off in a few places. They were however very quiet, which was nice. WiFi is a little spotty and sometimes did not work and if it did had low speeds. But again, for the price, this is acceptable. Our king bed room had a nice view of the ocean. The lady at the front desk did a great job and let us in our rooms early. The breakfast was good with the gentleman who staffed it doing an excellent job keeping everything filled and the tables clean. The location is only one block from the beach and they do rent chairs and umbrellas at the hotel. Fort Clinch is next door and town is only a five minute drive. I would stay here again and recommend it to anybody.

Clean and Quiet in a great location. The room was spacious and clean. It was a little worn but nothing that affected the quality of our stay. There are two resturants within walking distance for lunch and dinner. The property is not directly on the beach but it is an easy 5 minute or less walk. If you have a car there are many restaurants and points of interest within a few minutes drive. I will say the breakfast was very average but hot items were hot and there was cereal etc. The coffee was great.
