Super 8 by Wyndham Richmond/Chamberlayne Rd

I checked in asking for a smoking room on October 13th around 7pm and the lady at the desk was rude to me and she stated that there was no more smoking rooms available. We went up to the room to check it out and then went back out to grab our bags. When we were walking back inside the lady at the desk was talking to a different person checking and she stated “we have no more non smoking rooms available other than a suite. You can either pay extra for the suite or get a smoking room.” This lady has been rude to me every single time I’ve stayed at this exact super 8 location in the past year. |Ten minutes before checkout, at 10:50, one of the cleaning staff came to the door pounding till we responded, saying we had to get out now. I was in the process of moving, and this hotel, being affordable and charming, offered a restful refuge. I initially thought it would be a quick overnight stay, but one night turned into two, then three, and before I knew it, five. I truly appreciated how quiet and clean the hotel and rooms generally were, which made my stay more comfortable. I especially want to acknowledge the two African American front desk women who assisted me most of the time during my stay; they were wonderful and made me feel genuinely at home. Even if only for a few nights, I would wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

The Super 8 needs to Upgrade Tanya to the GM of all Super 8s or make her the District Manager. She is always friendly and I have stayed a few weeks at a time and she has the best Customer Service that I have seen by far in RVA. She goes above and beyond to insure we have a comfortable stay. She also doesn’t let her outside life effect her work ethic she is amazing. I can’t complain about her, the hotel may not be the best or a 5star hotel but Tanya’s service is Superb! We stayed a total of almost a month here and she is always friendly and approachable!!! We love Tanya!!!!! Promote her asap, because she’s got what it takes to turn around the Customer Service Experience for the entire team!!!!

This doesn’t even deserve one star, it should get negative stars for how disgusting this place is. THE WORST hotel i’ve ever stayed at. I picked it for the location and alleged free hot breakfast. Plus, I booked it on Wyndham website which tells me they don’t check these properties or they just don’t care period. As soon as we walked in, the place stank and looked dated and gross. Front End person had no uniform, no name tag. Our key came in a used holder. The door lock wouldn’t work and we had to jiggle it and try multiple times, mind you, I was there with my four year old daughter. The floor was dirty.
