Super 8 by Wyndham Clive IA

I began staying at this property weekly in early December of 2025. I live in Iowa City and work for the state in West Des Moines. I decided to give it a shot because they had a good rating on Booking. Now--I stay every week and book directly with the property for my work stays. The rooms are updated and modern, very clean, spacious, and quiet. The beds are extremely comfortable (which I especially appreciate having a full spinal fusion), and each room has a fridge and a microwave. The shower pressure and hot water are lovely after a long day at work. There is an onsite gym that is very nice as well. I have not used the pool but it looks great. The staff are absolutely fantastic, and so helpful and kind! The breakfast is perfect for me--I am a light eater, but they also have items like waff

Stayed here twice in the last two weeks. Both times were last minute, work related bookings. Staff has always been super friendly, easy to deal with, no crazy smells or people in the lobby. Rooms are meh, first time we got a double queen, beds were comfy, but water pressure in the shower was terrible, and since we checked in at 2300 and were leaving at 0500, crappy long showers made it an overall rough stay. Stayed again on 11/7 by myself, got a king, water pressure was much better, but by then end of a 10 min shower I was standing in 4 inches of water, opposite of what I expect from my shower. Woke up following morning, super uncomfortable bed btw, and as I climbed out of the bed a used needle followed me out as well. Due to the location and price I really wanted this place to become our

Positive: "" Negative: My wife and I stayed 2 nights. The water in my room smelled bad. I could not even take a shower in it. There was also a very foul odor coming from the AC unit. All of our clothes smelled horrible for the remainder of our trip.

I wouldn't recommend this place for anything more than a short stay. The room was clean and roomy. But the air conditioning was lousy. We could not get the air conditioner to work for any more than a few minutes. Then it shut off and we could not get it to run. It kept triggering the circuit breaker. The choices at breakfast were minimal. The muffins tasted stale. There was no hot water. There was no one attending the breakfast room or the supplies. Would not recommend this place.

This place is always clean. I stay here for work all the time and the owner treats you with the utmost respect. I was here one night and a customer was so disrespectful the owner tried his best to fix the issue that the guy thought he was having. Thank you for all the great stays.
