Hotel Fort Des Moines, Curio Collection by Hilton

The company I work for had a meeting that lasted a week and we stayed at this very elegant hotel. We had the pleasure of being serviced by Boddy who was very attentive, accommodating and professional when catering our food. I highly recommend this hotel not only for the outstanding hospitality but also for the quality and comfortability of the rooms. Very very nice!!!

We had some difficulty with Parking and Bobby and Chris were wonderful. Great experience. There are some concern about our dog being safe, but thankfully they were looking out for her and everything worked out really well. This is a place where the people go above and beyond.

Positive: Convenience to another facility. Historical significance. Charm. Loved it. Will definitely book again. Negative: Saw a few housekeeping things that I thought could be better. Towel replacement on second day of my stay for example. Wasn't sure shower had been cleaned. It wasn't dirty or anything, but made me wonder.

Beautiful Hotel, But Noise Makes It Impossible to Sleep. The hotel itself is gorgeous – stunning lobby, stylish and comfortable rooms, and two amazing restaurants with great food. The staff is friendly, professional, and very helpful, which made check-in and dining a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, the location and poor soundproofing completely ruin the stay. The hotel is next to a construction site, a train track, and a hospital. You hear everything: trains passing, sirens from ambulances, street traffic, and construction noise early in the morning. Sleeping here was nearly impossible, and I left feeling exhausted. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is NOT the place. Great amenities and staff, but the noise level makes it hard to enjoy your stay.

Be wary of Hotel Fort Des Moines. We had booked a room in advance in September 25. We arrived, checked into our room, and did some unpacking. Within an hour, another guest walked into our room while my wife and I were in the bedroom, using his key card. Apparently the hotel had double-booked our room. When we checked out, the attendant at the front desk asked “How was your stay”? We recounted the uncomfortable events of the first day, and the “Director of Rooms” came to the front desk and promised that we would not be charged for the room due to the inconvenience.
