SpringHill Suites by Marriott Amelia Island

This place deserves a higher rating. It’s a modern hotel just a block from the beach, and we were very impressed. The property is stylish inside and out, with beautiful pool areas and well-kept grounds. The pool wasn’t heated during our winter stay, which was a bit of a disappointment for the kids, but the hot tub was hot and relaxing. The outdoor music was also a nice touch. Our suite was modern, clean, and comfortable. The only minor downside was the shower head, which could use replacement or a thorough cleaning. I think we were in room 266 (across from 67). Parking is $15 per night, which felt reasonable since it’s gated and secure. Breakfast is complimentary—nothing special food-wise, but the seating area was pleasant. Positive: This hotel is located very near the beach. Negative: Pool hours should end at 10pm and be strongly enforced. We could hear people hollering well past 11 and couldn't sleep well because of it.

Over the weekend, we joined y husband on Amelia island. He is staying at the Marriott on Fernandina Beach. The room is relatively sized and put together, however the bathroom has no fan, and the shower glass door is such that water spills onto the floor as one showers. The towels are worn and thin, making it hard to use just one. My husband is a big guy, and I felt for him using 2 towels. |Now the outside is another story. Beautifully decorated for the lounge, dinning room, pool area, reception area, all inviting.|Hotels are about rooms, bathrooms and the convenience of a decent wash room.|This Marriott does not live up to that standard for this reason.|My husband will be staying for 45 days, it will be nice to get this room fixed or changed. He is not one to complain, but I hope the call

The staff was a great help from the start! Great service with checking in and out of the hotel and laying out the amenities available to us. The room was spacious and the parking was close by. The breakfast was pretty good and there was over 10 options of toppings for your oatmeal or waffles. While we didn't utilize it, the pool looked to be in great shape with plenty of chairs and space. We did have an incident though as we were leaving because there was a spider in our car door! A worker was quick to realize as he was outside already and helped get the spider out of our way. We are very appreciative of his kindness!! The reason we came was for the proximity to the Fort Clinch state park and it was not even a minute drive to the entrance which was an amazing plus! Great Location. Room was decent but shower head had no pressure and little fridge was not cold for our drinks. There is also a fee to park on thier property(Huh?Didnt we already pay to stay at your place?) We will probably stay at an Air BnB next time. You think you are getting a decent deal but are sacrificing in certain areas for the price.
