Spark by Hilton Wilmington Carolina Beach Rd

My son and I needed a place quick and covenant because we don't have a car. This hotel is in a perfect location. Close to literally everything. The ladies at the front desk are very nice and the lobby smells amazing. This is one of the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in and the beds are comfortable. The price was right even before I knew there was a gym my son loved and indoor pool which unfortunately was closed but we will be coming back in a week or so to stay the night to enjoy it! They have sodas, beer, snacks, even Tylenol for sale in the lobby which very much came in handy. Lastly they have a cold breakfast bar with everything you need for a quick breakfast. Positive: It was a great clean room and nice location Negative: The only problem I had about the room in the hotel is that my room had a very moldy smell in the room. It triggered my asthma.

Imagine driving into North Carolina for the first time ever. It’s a wedding weekend and you’re so happy and excited! And then you get to your hotel and within one minute the front desk is calling and demanding you come immediately and check in your dogs. Okay? ||||As I approached the front desk I’m immediately accosted by the manager who’s speaking over the top of the front desk agent accusing me of sneaking in my dogs and they are NOT staying for FREE!! ||||First of all my husband usually makes all the travel arrangements and I honestly thought I checked my dogs in online because the SPARK was the first hotel I found that accepted pets. That really upset me, accusing me of stealing basically and before I even got back to our room the manager charged me full price with 15 minutes of arrivi

I love this hotel. Everyone is very friendly. The rooms are adequate, clean and comfortable. A microwave would be nice but there is one in the lobby to use. They have a “cold” breakfast but it is well appointed. A little shop is also available to buy beer, wine, sandwiches/entrees to heat and toiletries.

Overall it was a great experience. Vanessa was awesome and helpful with everything we needed. The room was spacious and even enjoyed the heated pool. We didn't have any problems. The only thing I was disappointed with was the issue with our wedding cake. It was too big to store in our room fridge and we asked to put it someplace else. Unfortunately when we checked out the cake had been gotten into with the top layer half missing AND someone had taken our flowers and topper. We did call and the staff was very apologetic but we never heard anything else from them. It was the only hiccup with our stay.
