Spark by Hilton Ann Arbor South

Stayed here while driving through Michigan. Seemed like a safe location. Front desk lady was an absolute gem. Very pleasant. The main areas of the hotel are well kept and visually appealing. Our room was very clean. Bed was so comfy. Seems like the hotel is either new or recently updated. My only issue was that the water system was a little janky. I couldn’t wash my hands while my boyfriend was showering because we would completely lose hot water. Water pressure would come in and out as well like it depended on if anyone around us was also using it. Maybe something to do with us being on the third floor? Mildly annoying, but the rest of our stay was amazing. I don’t know what the average price of hotels is these days but compared to the other ones we’ve been staying at on our trip this was

This hotel is in a great location and close to the university. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, this is an older building that has been updated but not remodeled. The old heater was nearly unusable because the fan rattles loudly any time it was on. The in room refrigerator was nice but also made noise all night. The fitness room was adequate but very small and only had weights between 5 and 20lbs with no mats for anything on the floor. The elliptical and treadmill both worked well. The breakfast was ok with a selection of cereals, dry oatmeal, and a few bagels. There was a juice dispenser, apple, and bananas but no hot food or yogurt.

Husband and I stayed here for one night and we enjoyed the cleanliness of the room. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of foods including eggs, meat, cereal, breads, waffles, juices…etc! They had a pool in which we did not check out but other than that we enjoyed our stay!

Stayed here while in town to pack up my son’s U of M dorm room. The hotel is located in an area with lots of other hotels on State Street in a safe part of town. The staff was friendly and courteous, the breakfast was fine, the pool and gym were adequate, and the hotel and my room were clean and well-maintained. The only thing making this not a 5-star is that my room was missing a couple of odd things - soap, and a bucket for ice. I asked and they were quick to supply them, but it was a bit weird that they were missing.

Treated badly by the front desk because the reservation was done through Expedia. The hotel outside looked unsafe checking in at 10:30 on 12/26/2025. The inside looked like a motel 6. Everything we see screams cheap. Under a Hilton brand??? Unbelievable. I’ll go with Marriott or IHG hotels wherever I can in the future. And it’s $110 per night tax included. Not going back.
