Sonesta ES Suites San Jose Airport

DECEIVING ! The pics make this hotel look fantastic. The rooms are newly renovated and very nice... BUT the type of guests this place attracts are trashy. I stayed here for business for 3 days. I had late nights and early mornings. The first 2 nights were ok. But the 3rd night when I pulled into the parking lot, there was a crowd of people smoking weed. Then between the hours of 10 PM and 1 AM I had to call the front office three times because there was a group of really loud 18-year-olds running up and down the stairs and pounding on the floor above me. I couldn't sleep and was very irritated. It took me asking the front desk if I needed to call the police for them to finally resolve the issue. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!

This property looks like a luxury apartment complex. The suites are beautiful and the property has lots of trees and is quiet. I'm here for a job in the Diridon district of downtown San Jose and my commute from here is only 8 minutes by car. I also commuted by bicycle one day too. I have a medical condition where I need to prepare my own food so I looked at three different extended stay type hotels: The Hyatt House, Extended Stay America, and Sonesta ES Suites. All three hotels are less than a mile radius of each other. Sonesta is the nicest one and I'm just going to stay here while I'm working downtown. The kitchen works really well for me and came with a dutch oven-style large pot and a 2 quart stainless steel pot. I brought a frying pan with me and I've had everything I needed

Positive: The hotel was very roomy clean and the location was great and for that reason I?ll be back Negative: The staff when I checked out of the hotel, was rude. I told him about my neighbor being extremely loud all night. He told me did you call and let us know? I said no I?m letting you know now. I also told him about people doing donuts all night

The best analogy I can think of for this place is that it's like visiting your auntie's apartment for the weekend. The decor is dated but she's done what she could with the existing layout and Home Goods clearance items, she maybe didn't have time to clean/dust before you came over, and her achy knees don't let her scrub the corners or baseboards anymore. she doesn't believe in streaming services but has TV's in every room. There's a couple repairs she's been needing but ignoring like faucet and bath drain fixtures that don't really work. And to save money, she only buys powdered coffee creamer and bar soap. I have stayed at this Sonesta ES numerous times over the past 2 years and after my 1.26 - 1.31 visit, I will never return. Winter Storm Fern hit the SE on Saturday and Sunday (Jan 2026). My Monday flight was cancelled and I couldn't get out of NC until Tuesday. I called the hotel and they made no accommodation. I was told either hold the reservation and pay for Monday night or make a new reservation (at a higher cost). I held the room so I could check in immediately upon arrival. When I arrived on Tuesday, they had to "check to see if my room was ready", which angered me that although I paid for a room night, my King Suite room was not empty, clean, and ready for my arrival.
