Sleep Inn & Suites Winchester near University

Stayed with my husband & 14 year old daughter. We are a lot picky about where we stay (Well, my daughter and I are- Men don’t typically care that much)- We found this Choice hotel to be really great! Clean & Safe- Great breakfast & a “close to everything you need “ location. The staff is courteous & professional. The gym is super sufficient. While we did not use the heated pool, we visited poolside which was very nice. Overall, excellent, especially for the price. Love the 12 PM check out! I would definitely recommend.

The original room we checked into had a broken bathtub, upon calling front desk she quickly and promptly moved our room without hesitation. The rooms themselves are slightly outdated but they are spacious, very very clean and do not have the hotel smell like some older rooms have. The breakfast looked great with lots of variety. The front desk lady was friendly, professional and very nice. They also have waters, sodas etc available. Check in was smooth and though outdated this was a pleasant experience and stay. I would definitely book here again if ever needed.

We stay here a few times a year. We always found everything well maintained and the staff friendly. There is an older lady working there that has been an employee as long as I can remember that has always made our visits enjoyable when she was working. We noticed last Christmas (2024) a decline in maintenance. We stayed again the beginning of June and things were worse. In addition to the room being in worse condition, the vending machines were empty / not working. During this stay the room was in subpar condition. I have photos as examples. The outermost front doors did not close correctly and the temperatures outside were low. I can only thing of the heat loss happening due to this. Even the large bottled waster dispenser in the lobby remained empty the two nights we were there

This hotel has been our "go-to" stop but at this last stay many things are in decline. The beds were very uncomfortable and the sheets were very wrinkled. The bathroom was dark, the shower faucet was difficult to adjust, the walls showed water damage and the towels were just ok. The room was generally dark and the brown carpet made us feel like the floor was unclean. When departing in the early morning the portico light went out. However, the front desk staff were great at making check-in and check-out efficient and our special request was honored. Looks like we need to find another hotel in the area until this Sleep Inn gets some repairs and renovations.
