Sleep Inn & Suites Harrisonburg near University

This place has the best popcorn. The breakfast was fairly tasty as well with many options — in particular, the waffles were amazing. Diana at the front desk provided exceptional customer service. The room was spacious with a comfy bed. If you’re visiting Luray I would consider staying here.

I am a returning guest. Stayed here in August to drop off my baby girl at JMU dorm for the first time. We stayed here for 3 nights that time and the hotel was pretty full. Enjoyed JMU Family welcoming table too. This time stayed only for a night as it was my daughter's birthday. Hotel was almost empty. Most probably because of the winter storms warnings. The front deck lady was so nice, sweet and helpful, has to mention. My apologies can't recall her name, but she works this Friday (January 23rd) night. Rooms we stayed, were clean. White bedding was spotless. Enjoyed complementary breakfast in the morning. Location wise it is pretty close to the university what we liked. Got good deals on prices. Next time if we have to stay, will pick this hotel again.

The hotel was not bad at all. The breakfast was average, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, fruit, and bread, plus a waffle maker. But it was super busy (Memorial Day weekend) and they kept running out of things. They did restock as quickly as they could. The room was clean enough, I felt the shower looked like it could’ve used extra attention, but it looked older and that may have been part of the issue. The room was good size, we had three adult children with us. We didn’t use the gym or other amenities. The staff was friendly. All in all, it was a good enough place to stop and rest on our journey as it’s very close to the Interstate and several restaurants. And the price was good for five adults.  We would stay there again.

The employees are really what make this place! They're kind, helpful and always available. The free popcorn and cookies are good and a huge hit for my kids. And the rooms are comfortable and the beds are like sleeping on clouds. And the towels are 12/10.

We regularly stay at this hotel when we visit Harrisonburg. This time, we were initially given a room that had a funky odor, so we requested a change. This was accommodated, although our key randomly didn't work the second day and we had to ask them to fix it. On our last day the shower lever on the faucet broke and we could not take a shower before heading out to travel home. This isn't necessarily the issue; I understand things sometimes. My issue is the rude and unprofessional staff. I reported the broken shower to the front desk. The attendant on the morning of Tuesday 12/30 did not offer any sort of apology, solution, or reimbursement.
