Sleep Inn Decatur I-72

On the positive side, most of the staff were kind and extremely helpful in accommodating needs. They hustled to make corrections when we had been assigned a room that did not match our reservation. Pet friendly. Heated, warm swimming pool was amazing. While our room was generally clean, the TV was very old and the picture quality was terrible. Furniture was extremely worn. While still listed as having a hot tub, it is blocked with yellow tape, about 8 inches of water in the bottom, has not worked in years and is a safety hazard. The binder in the room with list of local resources and restaurants was so outdated, many of the restaurants listed have been closed for 2-3 years. This hotel is in a food desert, and so far away from things that those we called did not provide delivery to us.

We pulled in here after the snow got too bad and we were sliding off the highway. They got us a warm room right away. The room was clean, beds were pretty comfortable. Vending machines worked and we even got a pizza place to deliver. It was quiet and no weird smells or anything. Breakfast was good and hot, also had quite a few options. Wifi worked good, TV was direct tv and had a ton of options to keep my sons entertained. All the employees were very nice!

Let’s just say the photos online are definitely not up-to-date. Or Current I said at the hotel thinking that it would be a good decision from what I saw from the reviews I read there I had a kitchenette room there| was absolutely nothing in there for you to use to cook not that I would’ve | used it. Had it been there my AC unit had some nice black mold in it toilet paper was broken. The holder found the remainder of it underneath the sink. I could tell they said the room was clean. Just don’t really think. Maybe they just put new towels which didn’t even have a clean smell and that was just about it the hot tub had a cigarette lighter at the bottom of it, and it was mainly drained. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Service is good and so is the breakfast. A little more attention to detail when cleaning should be considered though. Dust and grime on light switches and lights. The hand rails going up the stairs are disgusting. I don't think they've been cleaned ever because the rails are black from all of the hands touching them. They need a good scrubbing for sure.

Surprisingly nice stay. Rooms were better than expected. Upgrades are needed, from the TV, to the bathroom, obviously everything is outdated in my opinion. However, I checked everything and everywhere and my room was clean. Everything worked and I had no issues. I didnt notice any places to dine other than the truckstop. Grab food before going.
