Americas Best Value Inn Decatur, IL

I was not impressed. We arrived late at night due to an emergency and needed a room. I was charged full price even though it was already almost 1am. We were told breakfast would be served between 6-9am. Non smoking room was basic but on a floor surrounded by smoking rooms so it was pointless. The ceiling was caving in and the shades were broken and wouldn't close all the way. There was one very flat pillow in the bed to use. In the morning before 8 am there was no breakfast. Not even coffee to drink. The staff don't seem to care about the comfort of the guests. I was a bit more than disappointed to say the least.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.Any positive reviews on here had to have been paid for. The entire room was horrible. It was so dirty and smelled awful. All of our clean items had to be washed after returning home because the smell of cigarette smoke permeated everything. There were bloody boogers smeared on the walls and what looked like blood in the bathroom next to the toilet paper. EVERYTHING was stained, the walls, the floor, the beds, the seats. The sheets were dirty, the blankets had burn marks and holes in them. The toilet seat was broken and barely hanging on. There were bugs, dead and alive, everywhere. We didn't even stay the entire time because of how atrocious the quality was. We even bought cleaning products and febreeze to try to make it work, with every hotel within an hour of the ar

Positive: I like how the desk attendant was so kind and help. We booked a two bed room and they didn?t have one when we got there. They had a room with a broken door and offered it to us. Called a locksmith and the door was fixed in about 2 hours. Negative: The description said clean and quiet with Continental breakfast, not true at all. We room was no smoking but you sure could smell cigarette smoke! Breakfast was a cup of coffee and a apple. Not to much detail on the cleaning part.

Five stars is based on what you're getting with a place like this. It's not the Hyatt. Roof, floor, bed, mini fridge, microwave, bathroom. Very simple. They have smoking rooms so if you're allergic to tobacco go elsewhere. It's quiet and staff are friendly. Pet friendly.

My one star means ZERO star rating due to the nasty, very cold, smelling, filthy room, rusty door, browned white towels towels, poor smell, dusty counter, stained microwave, no elevators, poor customer response to my concern of a very cold room heat at 30 degrees highest. The customer service refused to change my room despite the coldness in the room. She could not refund my money. I couldn’t spend a single night out of 4 booked nights. I was unable to get I touch with the hotel manager. The receptionist was condescending. I would recommend this hotel to an insect either.
