Sheraton Detroit Novi Hotel

This was a standard business hotel which seemed to have been upgraded to a more modern, minimalist style. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The AC made tons of noise and could itself use an upgrade. The kitchenette was a nice touch.

Positive: Location. Courteous staff. Clean Rooms. Generally Quiet. Great Guest Services and Housekeeping. I appreciate that they provide complimentary water daily in the room. That small touch says so much. I have stayed in this hotel several times! Negative: ""

I am writing this to inform future guests about a significant breach of privacy and a total failure in security protocols during my recent stay (Jan. 2-3, room 522). DO NOT BOOK HERE.||While on a "staycation," an experience that should have been relaxing turned into an invasion of privacy. Between 9:15 and 9:19 AM, while I was stepping out of the shower, a hotel employee keyed into my room and entered without authorization. He did not knock on the door one time. My boyfriend, who was asleep at the time, was forced to jump out of bed to confront the intruder. The employee’s only response was, “Oh my bad man, I had this room marked as vacant.”||Upon reporting this to the front desk, I was told I had been "checked out" at 7:09 AM. It’s a centrally located hotel, but there isn’t much going on within a square mile. The indoor pool claims to be heated, but it’s not heated well enough to justify swimming in the winter. The breakfast bar is good and has good choices, but it’s not included and run around $25/person. The food is great though. The bar has all the usual options for drinks, the food menu is good too. The bartender is a little lukewarm and picks and chooses who he’s kind to. He has an attitude that says he’s annoyed by most. The front desk team was okay. A few people actually tried to be helpful and professional while others were annoyed and distracted by playing video games that they’d brought with them. We’d stay here again because it’s the closest to our office, but we wouldn’t really recommend it.
