We had such a great stay. The amazing history of the hotel reminds us of the ones we stayed at in Europe. They kept the historic look intact and the place feels cozy. The staff were all fantastic and accommodating. We loved the coffee service as well. It was a nice bonus. We will definitely stay here again.

Loved this place! Super clean with a cute vintage feel. My room smelled fresh (not musty) and the staff were so kind and helpful. The room is small, but totally fine if you’re solo or out most of the time. Comfy bed and pillows too. Thanks for the great stay!

Unfortunately my stay was less than wonderful. I booked 3 nights but only ended up staying one and found another hotel to stay at instead. The one pro is the walking distance to pier 39. The rooms are very dated - which is understandable enough given the fact that it is a old hotel. but when i turned on the light, a loud electric pop and sparks came out of it. I woke up Friday morning to very loud construction going on in the hotel. i was not aware they are doing major renovations but i couldn't even sleep in as the work started SUPER early and was very loud. Hammers, saws, the whole 9 yards. As well - the room was very, very musty smelling - my allergies kicked in at an all time high which prompted me to just leave as to not cause an issue and seek a hotel elsewhere for the remainder

Punchline. Yes I would stay here again if I can book a room with a private bathroom. I was traveling alone. The room was clean the bed comfortable. It is not a luxury place but if on a budget this is just enough. It does test your tidy and organizational skills. Wi-Fi works well. Water pressure is good. Staff are friendly. There's a cafe across the street and a second down the street that have awesome coffee. There a Trader Joe's two blocks down for inexpensive lunch food and an excellent sandwich shop two blocks up the hill.

Positive: The location Negative: I didn’t like walking down the hall to use the bathroom, and the only sink was in the hallway. None of the rooms have bathrooms.
