San Luis Inn and Suites

Thank you for a wonderful stay. You were kind and supportive when I drove to that city for an interview, and you had wonderful recommendations for dinner options. When I had difficulty accessing the Wi-Fi, you came up to my room and sorted it out. The Inn provides you with a tourist map so you can see what the downtown area has to offer. When you get off the 101 Freeway, the Inn is super close. Navigating back to the freeway when you’re ready to head out is also easy. There are gas stations and convenient breakfast options right next to the Inn.

I made a reservation and had to cancel. I called to cancel less than 10 minutes after making the reservation. When I called they said that since I made the reservation through a third party I needed to go through them. No problem. I called TripAdvisor let them know and they contacted this place. They were told that they weren't going to refund my money. TripAdvisor called me asked me some more questions and then contacted the motel again. That is when they said Well it's not refundable. Funny because when I called and spoke to the lady at the front desk she didn't say anything about that she just said talk to the third party company. I guess you get what you pay for. Absolutely awful experience at the San Luis Inn and Suites. The woman at the front desk tried to charge us an extra $100 that we were never told about. When we refused to pay a random fee because we came at 1am even tho we called ahead and told her we’d be coming at that time. Next day she actually tried to hold our stuff hostage and lock us out of our room! I've never been treated so rudely at a hotel before. It felt completely unfair and honestly a little scary. We were just trying to enjoy our trip, and instead we had to deal with this mess. Save yourself the stress and stay literally anywhere else — this place is not worth it.

Positive: Room was very clean, bathroom has been updated to be clean and modern. Refrigerator and microwave made this a very nice room for the price. Negative: 2 of the 3 lamps did not work, and the electric plugs are so old and loose that plugs just fall out.

A hellhole. Dirty, unpainted wall patches throughout the room. Toilet seat was smaller than toilet! The bed headboard was covered in fingerprints and stains. Food stains on walls, (at least I hope it’s food) and the bed still had plastic wrap tearing away from box spring. Just nasty.
