San Francisco Marriott Fisherman's Wharf

This would be a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the restaurant and bar staff. We stay here a number of times throughout the year. The woman bartender in the evening and the two gentlemen in the morning who work the breakfast bar and happy hour bar are just plain rude and unfriendly. Don’t know why that behavior is acceptable for what is an otherwise very friendly and helpful staff. From the moment you are greeted by the valets, to check in, to maid service, to facilities- they are welcoming, friendly, and treat you like they’re happy to see you. Perhaps if the restaurant/bar staff was better the inflated breakfast costs would almost be acceptable ($10 bagel, $34 breakfast for 1). The location was good. If you like to walk you can walk less than a mile to a lot of Italian restaurants. It was an easy walk to the wharf. ||I didn’t like the $35 destination fee charge per night. The room was somewhat noisy since we were close to the street. The towels were skimpy, but the shower was good. I suppose the destination fee charge got us off on the wrong foot plus we had just stayed at a really nice place in Monterey.

I had to find accommodation quickly as let down by agent and another hotel nearby.i walked in to the Marriott and was welcomed by friendly staff who sorted me out a room within minutes. Formality over the hotel was clean,AC everywhere,room was very large king plus bed ,bathroom with everything and a well appointed room. The bar was welcoming where breakfast Buffet or dinner can be taken. For where it is a little expensive but very good. I’d go bake again. Thank you Marriott.

Positive: The location is perfect for a first time visitor to San Francisco. Negative: No onsite Coffee shop. Coffee stops at 11am with breakfast.

My experience at the Marriott was wonderful.  Mesui Pale, Sam Williams, and the ladies at the front desk were all so friendly and helpful.  Also, the gentlemen who worked at the front entrance were very helpful in provding us with directions and advise.  The buffet breakfast was delicious and the staff/servers were very attentive. Location is walking distance to Ghirardelli Square and many nice restaurants. The Irish Coffee and cocktails at the Buena Vista are very good. We walked along the bay to see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz.
