Customer Reviews
Stunning coastal views and lots of wonderful holes by the ocean. The salt sea air is so refreshing whilst playing this great resort course. Some really challenging holes and overall great fun! A must play whilst in Maine. One cramped par 5 around the start of the back 9 but then really picks up again with the stunning views and layout. Good practice facilities — could spend all day there!
With relatives in the area, I've been coming to midcoast Maine for almost 10 years. This month was the best condition I've seen the course. The new super has done a fantastic job. The course has poor drainage on the back 9 and I have plugged shots on 10 and 12 before. Last weekend (Aug 16), the greens were firm and fast as you would expect from an elite resort course like Sand Valley or Kiawah, with firm fairways. Yes, the rough was baked out a bit due to the drought, but an irrigation project is coming (and hopefully drainage work such as replacing infill drain pipes and perhaps replacing Maine clay soil with sandy loam in places). Views are always 10/10. I just wish they could have routed it by the ocean for 18. Layout is solid but there are only a few really good holes architecturally.
Not sure how the reviews are so low. Overall this is an amazing course, with stunning views. It’s extremely expensive (nearly $200 for a off property 9 holes with club rental), but if you’re an out of towner like me wanting to experience Maine at its best, this is it. I’m a high handicapper as well and although the holes are tricky, there are options on most holes to play it safe. Highly recommend!
This course is the best in the entire region. The layout is fun and challenging. The wind can make it brutal, but that’s to be expected on an ocean course. It has multiple scenic holes that are memorable. The course has always been in great condition during my rounds (typically in the summer).
Best golf course very similar to pebble beach, kiawah, bandon dunes.Lots of good views and excellent condition. It’s not to long for big hitters but for anyone around 6400 yards it’s in range with top courses.
