Megunticook Campground

Stayed 4 nights here in September which seemed to be a bit off season as there were many empty sites.|The sites are very small and anyone with a larger RV may want to check further - ours is only 24 ft + sides and it was tight. Our site was up front in the loop next to the office which seemed to be pretty full. Being up front was not the best for quiet – all we heard all day/night were cars, motorcycles, trucks etc going by on the main road. The map showed we had bushes next to us at the end, but it was a maintenance building with parked vehicles. Toilets and Showers were separate areas, both clean but no heat in shower area and open floorboards below so quite chilly at times. No dumpsters we could find so just bagged up our trash and left in front of the office when we left. It was

Beware of their policies, ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS before booking. We booked a camp site for a little over a week for August 2025. We paid in full at time of our reservation. NO WHERE on their site does it say they will charge you a NON REFUNDABLE CC convenience fee when making your reservation. I had questions that needed to be answered before making my reservation, so once they were answered I booked over the phone. I was NOT told that there would be a CC convenience while I was making my reservation, either. Due to family health issues we needed to cancel, (we were well within the cancelation policy time frame). I called and explained my situation and they had no issue with canceling and I was told I would receive a full refund less the non refundable fees. They kept their res

Camped here for a week, great spot, clean camp ground, one great thing is that they pick up your trash daily. The views from the water front are stunning, to your left is Indian island light house, North & South Haven islands straight ahead. We were away from the road so pretty quite. Would definitely stay here again!

This camping site may be small, but it definitely has its perks! I loved the full bathrooms and private showers—such a nice touch! It's conveniently located near local towns with delicious food options. We even visited a nearby fishery and picked up some fresh lobster. I will say that camping on the ground isn't the best due to the location, and while the cabins are a bit pricey, they're really nice! Overall, I'm looking forward to staying with friends in the lower cabins, cooking together, and soaking in the beautiful views of the lake!

Solid 4.5... We loved our stay here. The ocean view is awesome and the onshore breeze kept us cool during a heatwave. The site lengths were a tad short but worked. Staff was pleasant and helpful. You pay for internet here. Our T-mobile cell signal was 4G and decent. Everyone adhered to the lights out quiet time which was wonderful. This is a nice quiet getaway that's close to Camden for shopping and site seeing. We'll be back for sure.
