Maine Island Lodge

Our kayaking group had a wonderful long weekend here! This is a beautiful island, with many lovely places to kayak right out the door. Also lovely walks as well. The lodge is very comfortable and welcoming. Caretaker Rose made us fabulous dinners! We definitely plan to return here. Many thanks!

We went for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and it was worth every penny!! Rose is an amazing hostess! The food was wonderful, the bed was comfortable and the room was so perfect with amazing views! We were very blessed to make some great friends as well from our weekend. We will definitely be bringing our family with us next time and may just make it a yearly trip for our anniversary!!

Great spot for a group-- work retreat, family gathering, etc. We arrived in the pouring rain and the lodge was a welcome sight as we unloaded our gear and dried out. The lodge is comfortable & clean, the scenery is classic Maine coast, the food was excellent & abundant. Rose, the Lodge Manager, was top-notch. Fantastic experience.

My group and I couldn't have been happier. The property is incredible and you can't ask for a better host than Rose. We all slept extremely comfortably, with beds to spare. There was more than enough room to play all sorts of yard games. The highlight of the weekend was on the 4th when Rose guided us through a lobster bake while we shucked and ate oysters on the beach, all fresh from the bay we were overlooking! It was an incredible weekend and we're excited to come back!!

This place is a hidden gem. I have stayed at Maine Island Lodge 3 times over the past few years and each time I leave wanting to get right back. This is a great place to rent and stay with friends/family or do a retreat! From the great boat ride to Gay Island by the lodge's caretaker Rose, to the delicious meals (including a beachside lobster bake!), stunning views, and comfortable space for hanging/sleeping/ yoga, etc., the Maine Island Lodge has it all. We'll be back this summer!
