An employee let himself into the women's restroom multiple times this morning while I was in the women's restroom alone. He told me that I needed to leave the women's restroom so that he could clean the womens restroom. He did not plan to wait for a better moment to clean the restroom. I felt unsafe.

0 star!!!! There were roaches and bed bugs everywhere. There were holes near the shower and I felt like I was going to fall through the floor. I do not recommend this place even if it's a cheap price. I am sanitizing my cloths to kill bed bugs and roaches.

I stayed there a year ago, it wasn't bad for the price, the reason I left was because of the manager, a complete drunk named Richard, besides robbing the owner blind and being constantly drunk. If he didn't work there, I would stay there again.

Downtown elpaso is a great place. Plenty of shopping, great food, good prices. Cost of living is unbeatable. Gateway hotel has it's own undeniable historical authenticity. Great place to stay at a very affordable rate.

If only 0 stars were an option! This establishment is filthy. There are bed bugs and roaches. They regularly house the handicapped on the second floor--and then force them out when they hear of an imminent inspection. It's not maintained. The fire alarm wiring is defunct, and has been for years. Avoid this "hotel" at all costs; if you are in such dire straits that you must stay here, discard any clothing you wore while here so as to avoid spreading the bed bugs to your actual home. Disgusting!
