Residence Inn by Marriott Short Pump at the Notch

Pros: |1. Very friendly/helpful staff |2. Spacious and comfortable rooms|3. Bar area in the lobby |4. Good breakfast eggs|5. In-wall HVAC as opposed to window units |6. Two queen bedroom suites with separate living space ||Cons:|1. Caulking in bathroom needed Tilex|2. Hall/elevator floors needed vacuuming |3. Walls are thin ||As I see it, my cons are unfortunately a problem at almost every US hotel I’ve stayed at below a 4-star. I always notice dirty elevator and hallway floors, and the bathrooms almost always need a deeper clean in some way or another. This hotel stands out as being better than most, and one I would happily return to.

Pros: Spotless and spacious suites. Beautiful shower with great water pressure. A fitness center with everything you could ask for. Good hot breakfast with multiple protein options. Friendly staff. Nice lobby with a variety of comfortable seating. Well equipped kitchen. Cons: Very minimal toiletries (a bar of soap and shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the shower.) I was disappointed that there was no lotion since I consider this to be a standard at hotels. I'm not talking about needing the single use bottles, but the bulk dispensers that can last many stays. Can't imagine it would cost them that much. My skin was so dry not having lotion. I stayed 2 nights here during a snow storm and the parking lot was a COMPLETE mess because the plow did not come a single time. Multiple cars got stuck

Positive: It was clean. Negative: The TV PROGRAMMING was unavailable so I had to purchase an ESPN+ subscription to watch the Australian Open. This was my primary planned activity for my time at the hotel. Breakfast options and hours were too limited for my taste.

Spacious, clean, modern rooms. My suite was immaculate. Staff were welcoming and check-in was quick and efficient. Super convenient for those visiting family and friends at Sheltering Arms - I can literally see the rehab center from the hotel. Also convenient to restaurants, groceries, etc. Many options for breakfast within the hotel and their coffee is on-point. All around great hotel, facility & staff.

Room was clean, bed & pillows were comfortable. Only gripe is I was woken early by the adjacent room taking a shower. I should have turned on my white noise app. Otherwise it was a good place to stay the night.
