Residence Inn by Marriott Scranton

Mike at the front desk is so nice and accommodating! Me and my fiance travel alot and it’s very rare to have this type of service in hospitality now a days. He went above and beyond for us and made our stay amazing. Definitely an asset to the staff and this property!! if we are in the area again we will definitely be staying here. P.S we actually could get youtube and netflix on the TVs which was amazingggg

Positive: It was spacious and clean. The bed was a dream to sleep in after a long day of driving. Negative: The noise from the interstate over the hill was a bit distracting....but we turned up the fan in the room and it somewhat disappeared. Maybe a white noise maching would help.

The mattress was old and lumpy, and the pool was closed. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast selections started out strong but around 8:30 am nothing was being refilled. Overall, the stay was fine and in a good location, just wished the mattress would of been better, it needs to be replaced. The sofa in our suite had cat scratches all over the edge of the side, this also needs to be replaced, it looked bad and they put a stand in front of it to hide/conceal it. Management needs to go in each room and replace old worn out items.

Hotel seemed ok when we walked in.. got to our room and the pull out we had in the suite we booked was FILTHY! Other guests clothing left, food and crumbs everywhere!|We called the front desk and asked for someone to please come up and see if they could clean it.|Took 45 min to have someone come and the woman was really rude! Also asked her for clean sheets for the 1” mattress that was on the pull out for our son. When leaving our room and walking to elevator we saw that the housekeeping woman had thrown the previous guests clothing right at the foot of the elevator!|Also found other people’s hair and hair ties in the shower!!! |NOT CLEAN!

The positive: Rooms are indeed clean like other reviews mention and the staff is actually good. The bad: pool was closed, TV is obsolete and shuts down automatically, the walls in the common areas are badly scuffed, and they really need automatic doors it has a single and somewhat heavy door that makes it difficult to keep open when bringing luggage 🧳.
