Courtyard by Marriott Scranton Montage Mountain

We had a wonderful experience staying at the Courtyard Marriott Montage on January 17, 2026. I was travelling with my sister and 2 year old grandson. The staff, and especially Chary, were very helpful in locating, delivering, and setting up a crib. We felt well cared for after a grueling day driving from ME in the snow. Janie was also very helpful in getting us settled for the night.

Awful conditions. Trash on the ground in front of the building, on the lobby floor, and in the elevator--which was old and damaged. The first room we were given had not been cleaned and was disgusting. The bathroom . . . The 2nd room had a filthy balcony full of cigarette butts. The hallway reeked of cigarette smoke and pot--I have asthma and was wheezing and coughing just to get into the elevator. All I can say is that the concierge was polite and apologetic — it wasn't his fault. The facility is poorly managed and maintained. Marriott used to be a brand you could trust.

The staff here are more than accommodating, they treat you extremely well. I’ve only had good experiences chatting with staff but specifically Greg and Amanda are amazing. Any issue that arises they’re on it. I’ve stayed at many hotels and BnB’s but I will pick the Courtyard every time.

5 stars for the staff! Rooms are rather tired with stained patchy ceilings, light bulbs that don't work, but the beds are super comfy and plenty of hot water. Room has fridge, microwave and coffee machine. In the wardrobe were a hair drier, iron and ironing board. No safe in our room (332). We ate in the Bistro as we'd driven from Newark and didn't want to drive again. We had the guest IPA (pumpkin!!) and a burger, both were good and the bill for 2 came to about $44. Our booking ($165 booked direct through Marriott) included breakfast; fruit cup and french toast with strawberries were delicious, husband enjoyed the avocado toast but found the fruit parfait very sweet. If your booking includes breakfast, make sure Reception give you a breakfast pass as we weren't given one which caused

The cleanliness of this hotel is deplorable. Long dark hair on floor and tub in bathroom. Bathroom floor sticky. Carpet had not been vacuumed. Plenty of other hotels within walking distance... choose one of them!
