Residence Inn by Marriott Grand Rapids Airport

I had a very pleasant stay overall. The room was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything I needed for my visit including ample plugs for my electronic devices, soaps, toiletries and a TV. The staff stood out for being consistently friendly, courteous, and accommodating, which made the experience better. The free breakfast was a nice bonus, offered buffet‑style with a good variety of hot items. On Saturday there were scrambled eggs, sausage, and waffles, and on Sunday the selection changed to eggs, bacon, pancakes, potatoes. Both days they had fruit, yogurt, bagels and other breads as well as coffee and juices. It was a great way to start the day. We spent one night with a Park and Fly arrangement because we had a very early flight out of GRR and we live an hour from the airport. One never knows how winter weather will impact travel plans! The hotel rooms are large and lovely and the staff was so pleasant and helpful. Special thanks to Mario for setting up our Uber shuttle flawlessly, both coming and going. We prefer an Uber over a shuttle, so much easier. We plan on repeating this when we have another crazy 6am flights. We left too early to experience breakfast but pleased they offer it!

When we arrived in our room our dog found a half-eaten sandwich on the ground next to the bed. When I took the sandwich to the front desk I asked them to have the General Manager for the property contact me. At the end of our stay, as the General Manager had made no attempt to reach me, I asked to speak with her. After some time the General Manager came out from her office and told me that she had no idea how the sandwich was left in the room. She proceeded to tell me that the property is rated highly - but did not appear at all surprised that we found a half-eaten sandwich on our arrival. She really gave no indication that she cared at all - about our experience or that she could take any action to prevent other guests from having the same experience. She expressed no concern

The hotel was very nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was great and tasty. The pool, gym and basketball court were excellent. I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is a bit hidden though so it's not so easy to find.

We recently did the park/sleep/fly at this Marriott for our vacation but ended up needing to stay the night of our return to Grand Rapids and the manager Mario was amazing and so helpful. He was super cheery and friendly and really cared about helping us with our stay. The hotel is nice but Mario is a shining star
