Holiday Inn Express & Suites Grand Rapids - Airport North by IHG

When I first moved in, I looked at the TownePlace Suites across the window and thought it seemed nicer. I was wrong. This hotel is actually cleaner, and the rooms are much larger. The breakfast here consistently includes yogurt and milk, unlike TownePlace, which sometimes doesn’t restock those items after they run out. One minor issue is that the swimming pool was a little cold. And sometimes the employee turned off half of the pool lights even though it was at least 30 minutes before closing time. This hotel did not pay me to write this review. The price is lower, yet in my opinion, it is better than TownePlace Suites.

Clean and modern. The front desk is consistently available & competent & (usually) friendly. The shuttle to/from the airport is reliable & convenient. What's not to like about scrambled eggs for breakfast? Bed was comfortable. One small quibble: Please add a second mirror. The only one is against the bathroom wall on the far side of a lovely but wide vanity. Makes shaving & makeup application difficult. If a full length mirror on the bathroom door isn't feasible, how about one of those makeup mirrors on an extension arm?

Positive: Check in lady was so nice to move her car for my husband to park in handicap spot. Negative: Only one young lady stocking breakfast, was swamped and could not keep up with demand. Had to go elsewhere for breakfast

No frills accommodations but got the job done! We came in just before midnight with no place to stay as we were dropping someone off for an early morning flight and I was too tired to drive back to Ann Arbor. We had tried another hotel but it was full. We were grateful for a place to rest, got the top floor which i requested and breakfast had great options and decent coffee. The room was not incredibly thoroughly cleaned but to close me eyes for the night and zip back off by 7a.m. I was very comfortable and grateful.

Located near the Grand Rapids Airport- this location is exactly what I expect from Holiday Inn Express. Clean, bright lobby space. Clean and comfortable room, including the bathroom. Good breakfast with a few unprocessed items available. Reasonably priced.
