Holiday Inn Grand Rapids - Airport by IHG

I really don't know why we have been staying at this hotel. Our company picks locations for us, and this surrounding area, has nothing. There's no restaurants, supermarkets or even a gas station in walking distance. Not the fault of the hotel, but if you do stay here, make sure you have a vehicle. Front desk check in was fast. The clerk was very friendly. The lobby has lot of seating and a bar next to the hotels restaurant. The rooms smelled musty and needs TLC. Hallway carpets have areas that are stained and dirty, (pictures look nicer than in person). The shower entrance retains the water from the shower, as it is in an open space and leaks onto the floor. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. T.v. is small, barely see it from the chair in the corner of the room.

Rooms are old and dated. Mold in the shower, carpet was old and dirty looking.The lock on the bathroom door didn’t work. The aTV looks to be about 20 years old.The furniture in the main lounge is grimey and worn. The people in the room next door kept messing with the adjoining room door. They were loud and obnoxious the whole entire night. Even when I had to get up at 3am I could still hear them talking and yelling. Only stayed here because of the extended parking but will gladly pay extra somewhere else.

This hotel is located in a very quiet area, not too far from shopping area. I misread the description, when I saw “breakfast available”, it didn’t occur to me it was the same as “free breakfast”. Wee, now I know. The attached restaurant served breakfast according to the front desk, and we were told it was about $13/person. We chose not to have breakfast there. The room was clean. The wallpaper was peeling in one area and the remote control was missing its back so we put some tape on it so the batteries wouldn’t fall out. The bathroom was really nice. It had the best shower set up I have ever seen. I would like it in my house! The bed was comfortable.

The custumer service is what keeps us coming back. Stephanie and Shaniya, the 2 amazing event coordinators are amazing with communication. I've held my retreats at quite a few locations and nothing compares to their prompt return emails. They even send out emails to remind us our room block was closing in advance. From the 1st step in the hotel where you are greeted by the host, to the time you leave when they tell you to drive safe and hope to see you again. The lobby welcomes you with a clean atmosphere and citrus water. The public bathrooms are clean and no worries about running out of TP. The trash was never over flowing, and they even have a quality brand tissues accessible. My overnight room was clean and easy to adjust our temperature, unlike others that get too cold or hot. I lov

Enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and affordable. The shuttle was very convenient and was scheduled on time. Staff was polite and would highly recommend staying here. Next time I am in town I will be staying here.
