Residence Inn by Marriott Fairfax Merrifield

this is one of the nicer residence inns I've stayed. breakfast could have been better choices (needs omelet bar) but made up for the room. Not quiet room, experienced loud noises during stay here. The staff was welcoming and accommodating right from the moment we checked in. A perfect blend of comfort and luxury.

Although the staff are friendly, it does not make up for the poor quality of the rooms and lack of cleanliness. The room was dirty, with hair and dust all over. The overall state of the room was terrible (photos enclosed), with furniture that had most likely been chewed up by a previous dog staying in the room. There were stains on the carpet and furniture. There was also mildew on the door frame. The AC did not work well during our entire stay - it was muggy and stuffy in the room (during a record heat wave in the area). The final straw came when people entered our room (without our knowledge or consent) to look at the AC and threw our belongings around the room. The assistant manager did call to apologize and indicate it was a third party contractor, so that touch was appreciated

We had spent our day at the near buy hospital. We checked in at 10 pm. Being greeted by a very pleasant helpful gentleman behind the desk was wonderful. Our room was most welcoming and laid out nicely for my exhausted family and we were still near the hospital for our patient.

The room was nice and clean with a very convenient kitchen- refrigerator, dishwasher, sink and small stove. It was great! The TV wasnt working but they came immediately to fix it. The breakfast was such a nice benefit and the staff was excellent!

I stayed at this hotel and a security deposit was charged at check-in, with confirmation that it would be refunded after checkout. Unfortunately, the deposit has not been returned yet despite the time passed and follow-ups. The room itself was fine, but the unresolved deposit issue negatively affected my overall experience. I hope management can clarify this matter and refund the deposit.
