Residence Inn by Marriott Des Moines West at Jordan Creek Town Center

We’re pushing 1,400 Marriott nights so it’s hard to say one Residence Inn is better than the next — but this one, which we have visited multiple times, really is the very best. Once you get past the warm and welcome greeting from AGM Allie, whose smile will brighten your whole trip, you are amazed at the cleanliness of every corner of this hotel. Even the windowsills! Yes, often a place for covert cigarette butts and dead bugs — but oh no, not here. Everything shines. We had the 2-Bedroom (Queens)/2-Bath (tubs in both) Suite with screened windows for a breeze. It was very roomy, seemingly bigger than its advertised 660 feet. There is a well-equipped fitness room just off the lobby, with towels and free weights. The laundry room on the 2nd floor is a bargain at $1.50 for wash, $1.50

I have spent some time doing day trips to Des Moines but have never stayed, I did a lot of research on different hotels in the area before choosing the Residence Inn, we choose this hotel because the price was good, the reviews were amazing and I am familiar with location and local attractions and restaurants near by as well as easy access to Interstate. We arrived later at night and the front desk staff was super pleasant and helpful even late at night, she gave us good information on how to get to our room and where things were in the hotel. I was highly impressed with the room, very well kept and clean, updated beautifully. Friendly staff. The rooms were clean and nice. Sever issues we had which is the reason for my 3 star rating. 1 issue with TV functioning reliability, 2 some outlets didn't work, 3 wall so thin that you can hear normal hallway conversations and you can hear people walking around on the floor above. All the staff was super helpful and friendly except for the kitchen staff. A few things were empty during breakfast and I politely asked if the items were going to be refilled and I received a hostile response.

I recently stayed here in early December. Lifelong friends, along with their wives, came from California and Oklahoma to stay for the weekend. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My bed and pillows were also comfortable. And all the necessary comforts of home for a short term stay. The breakfast was good. All the standard hotel breakfast fare, and even chocolate milk. I wasn't expecting fine dining. And I really appreciated the salsa that was provided for the ubiquitous scrambled eggs. I went back for seconds all 3 mornings that I was there. The coffee could have been a little hotter. The location is very good. I am planning on going back in June to enjoy the spacious outdoor patio. And lastly, the service was excellent. We always stop here when traveling. Many restaurants nearby and dog friendly. There’s a walking path right out the back door and plenty of parking. Mike at the front desk is awesome!
