Drury Inn & Suites West Des Moines

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was exceptional—every staff member I interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making my stay comfortable. One of the biggest perks is the location. The hotel is perfectly situated near great shopping and a wide variety of restaurants, making it incredibly convenient whether you’re in the mood to explore or grab a quick bite. The complimentary breakfast and supper were such a pleasant surprise. Both meals offered plenty of options and were delicious. My husband and I spent a Saturday night for a sister's gathering. Allison at the front desk was very accommodating and friendly. We arrived early for check in and she kept us up to date on the status of the cleaning of our room. As a matter of fact, she is one of the reasons we have been meeting here for many years. The dining room was clean and the dinner meal and breakfast were pretty good. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. One of the elevators wasn't working, which was a little inconvenient when we were trying to get one when it was time to check out Sunday. I would recommend this place.

We did some shopping in the area and decided to make it a little trip. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The pool is on the smaller side but my kids didn't care and enjoyed their time there. I enjoyed the hot tub which was the perfect temperature. We got a suite which had the most room for similar suites we have stayed in. A bonus was the little dinner and breakfast they provided. Once we were done shopping, we checked in and didn't have to leave. All and all a great stay. We will definitely go again.

Positive: Comfortable beds, clean rooms. Great staff. Negative: The original room had a very musty smell. When we told the front desk they quickly upgraded us to a suite. We stay at this hotel 6-8 times a year and never had any problems previously. We will be back on our next trip.

The cleanliness and good condition are the first thing we noticedl at the the Drury. We first stayed in a Jaccuzi room, and decided to stay an additional night, and while the same.room was booked, they happily moved us to a King room that was clean and welcoming. The staff are what makes it AMAZING here! Chris made our drinks at the free nightly reception, super nice guy. Alison is a front desk Angel, we watched her help and older gentleman with so much compassion it moved us. The manager, whose name is didn't catch, got medical help for the gentleman's wife and was incredibly kind to him. They treat you like you matter here, which is uncommon in this day and age.
