Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Back Bay/Fenway

I suppose it’s fine. It’s clean and there are beds in the rooms. But the pictures made me think we were staying at a nicer hotel. The breakfast is regular continental breakfast with a few extra oatmeal toppings, the exercise room and pool are both small and fine, it feels like what you might find in a motel. I don’t really know Boston but this part of town looks dirty and corporate compared to other parts we’ve seen. To be honest, my expectations were too high: the only room they had was a suite so I felt like we were splurging and maybe going to have a very relaxing experience but everything was just serviceable.

Overall a great experience. The location is perfect, very central, close to BU, lots of dining options within walking distance. Target and Star market are very close by. The facility is very well-maintained, neat and clean rooms, great service. Breakfast is included and offers a large selection of hot foods, baked good, fruits, yogurts etc. The hotel also includes a gym, indoor pool, laundry machines and a terrace lounge! The apartment style rooms with a kitchen are perfect for a family stay! Highly recommend it and looking forward to our next stay!

We stayed two nights and we are very satisfied with our stay. The staff is super kind and useful, the room perfectly clean and comfortable. The included breakfast offers a lot of option and everything was fresh ans good. We recommend 100%.

everything about our stay exceeded expectations. Every single member of the staff we encountered from the General Manager to a new employee being trained when we checked in, were professional , friendly and kind. It all felt so genuine , not forced. The location was absolutely perfect for what we needed. And the fact there was a pharmacy, at target, and many great restaurants close by made the stay even that much more enjoyable. We will definitely return again next summer to check out a Red Sox game.

The hotel was in a great location for us. However one of the main reasons we chose to stay was the pool for the kiddos to use. We arrived on a Friday to find that the pool was “ temporarily closed for routine maintenance “ which was not observable for the entire weekend. It was reopened on Monday morning looking exactly the same. Not a good situation. On another note we called the front desk late at night and specifically said the remote wasn’t working and we could not turn off the tv. We had to call an hour later with the same request. Staff and housekeeping were cordial. The accommodations comfortable but don’t count on everything being as advertised.
