Residence Inn by Marriott Akron South/Green

The staff was lovely. Every person we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The room itself was subpar. Our desk was falling apart. The lampshades in our room were busted as though someone had punched them and the kitchen sink looked like it had never been cleaned. Our room did not have a functional coffee machine or hair dryer and I didn’t have a hot shower the entire stay. The pool was also “down” for the entirety of our stay which was a huge disappointment for our two year old. Overall will probably stay elsewhere in the future.

Really just an average experience overall, staff were very courteous and professional. The free breakfast in the morning was pretty great, and there was a lot of variety. The best thing about this hotel was The water pressure was amazing, Though I didn’t really understand only having half a shower door because the water just sprayed everywhere. The rooms were very spacious, and actually look like a small studio apartment. The big downside was the bed. Now I know everyone has their preferences, but this bed was hard, harder than hard. That’s saying something considering my bed at home is pretty firm. Both me and my Girlfriend woke up with sore backs, And found it very hard to get comfortable.

Deon Watkins is the GM at the Residence Inn Akron I stayed two nights ago. He's a new GM at this property with aspirations of having several under his management. I learned this when I drove with him on Monday. ||You need to hear this story: ||I called when I landed in CAK airport asking if the property could send the airport shuttle as it is advertised to have. I heard the hesitation in Deon's voice and as he told me that there was an issue, but if I could give him 5 minutes, he'd call me back. I told him there was a different Marriot nearby and not to worry, I'd simply go elsewhere. He said, "no, don’t do that … just 5 minutes, I'm going to figure this for you sir". Whatever. That’s cool. He sounded like he wanted to help and that’s surely worth 5 minutes of my time for his investment in

I stayed here for work. Staff was extremely friendly. Rooms were clean. There was a small issue with the thermostat but they promptly helped resolve this issue. I will definitely stay here when I am in town for work again.

The staff was extremely accommodating. The rooms are beautiful, clean suites. They give military discounts here and also offered an additional discount because the pool was down for cleaning at the end of our weekend stay. This is one hotel in the area that actually has kept their pool open (limited capacity of course). They serve complimentary breakfast and although they are still following the safety precautions in place, the packaged food they provide is actually good quality.. We checked out on Sunday when our sky dive was canceled due to poor weather but decided to come and stay another night anyway! Great relaxing experience... Will Definitely stay there again when we reschedule our jump. AMAZING experience.
