Red Roof Inn & Suites Staunton

Hard to find; I drove past the entrance twice! Once I found it, I was pleasantly surprised. Check in went smoothly and I got a room on the first floor as rewuested. It was nice to be able to park my car right in front of the door as it was packed with personal belongings and a full luggage bag on top. The pet appropriate room smelled clean, the sheets were crisp and the room was very large. Sleep well on a comfortable mattress and got up bright and early. The only downside to my stay was breakfast which was disappointing. Some bagels, muffins and cereal were the only offerings along side coffee or tea. The skim milk was hiding in the refrigerator along with the light cream cheese (full fat would have been better) and butter. No jam until I asked for it. A little effort on the breakfast sp

Unlike another hotel in the area, this room was very accessible for me. Only problem I had was no designated handicap parking nor any curb cuts that I could find. Fortunately my husband was able to help me enter the room. Very quiet.

As with most Red Roof Inns, it's quiet in the rooms, and they are comfortable. However in room 109, neither the deadbolt worked, and the security brace had been broken off, though not a deal-breaker, as I braced the door with a chair. Also, either they play with the wifi, or it's outdated, as I had to go stand in the parking lot to connect, and lost it within 5 minutes of being back inside. Also, there was no floor mat to wipe your shoes upon entering. Nice continental breakfast set up, with lots of choices. If I had to choose between a TV or good wifi in a room, I'd pick good wifi connections.

Positive: "" Negative: The hotel was at least 95% unoccupied when I got there. Yet, the front desk person refused to let me in just 40 minutes before 3 PM. Eventually, he let me in 10 minutes before. There was no reason whatsoever to not let me in the room

This Motel is a budget Motel and so my expectations are not very high. But I found the place to be adequate and the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. I appreciate that since these motels are pet friendly, that the floors are all a laminate which is easy to clean and keep the rooms smelling fresh. My stay was pleasant and problem free, just as I had hoped.
