The Blackburn Inn and Conference Center

Our stay at the Blackburn Inn was absolutely unforgettable and truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the warmest hospitality. Brooklyn and Taylor greeted us with genuine smiles, made check-in seamless, gave us a helpful overview of the Inn, and provided a list of local food recommendations. Every single place we tried was a hit. Kathy’s was fantastic for breakfast, Mill Street Grill made for a perfect special dinner, Remedy Burger had the best burger and fries, and Crucible Coffee quickly became our go-to for great coffee.||We had the pleasure of meeting Amber, the Operations Manager, and she truly set the tone for what exceptional hospitality looks like. Amber went above and beyond in every way to ensure our anniversary getaway was memorable. S

It’s an old historic building with tons of history (some of it spooky, don’t read about it right before you try to sleep), but the staff is great. Particular shoutout to Roger, the maintenance staff employee who got my attention in the parking lot to make sure I didn’t need to borrow a scraper for the rental windshield so I’d be able to safely drive. He was a remarkably kind man in a world that seems to have forgotten that it’s a really easy thing to be.

I stayed here on a quick overnight during the snow, and had the most restful nights sleep! To start, the parking lot and sidewalks were nicely plowed and salted even though the snow was coming down. Check in was super easy. I had the cutest Cozy Queen room and "cozy" is definitely accurate! The bed and pillows were so comfortable I didn't wake up at all. The best part was the rainfall shower. A quick, delicious breakfast at the Bistro was just what I needed before checking out. I will definitely return!

I chose the Blackburn for a romantic getaway based on the many positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience fell well short of expectations. The biggest issue was comfort. Our room was perpetually cold, as were the floors, which made it difficult to relax or feel cozy—something that really matters for a romantic stay. Adding to this, there is no elevator to the upper floors, which made getting to our room inconvenient and unexpected. We stayed during the recent snowstorm and learned that the property does not have standby power generators. Had there been a power outage, our room would have been unheated and elevator service unavailable. This is information I would have wanted to know in advance, as it would have significantly affected my decision to stay and allowed me to make alte
