We absolutely love it here! We stayed in the Echol’s Suite. The attached sunroom is wonderful! The room was clean, well appointed with snacks, coffee, drinks, and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable, pillows were great for me but a little bit big for my husband(personal preference), & the linens and blankets were of high quality. We enjoyed use of the common areas like playing pool in the library, enjoying drinks in the main level sunroom on the swing, as well as sitting in the parlor with afternoon tea and snacks. You are so close to all the downtown Staunton has to offer. The property itself is stunning.

We spent 2 nights at the Oakdene Inn. Our room was on the 3rd floor in the Governor's Suite. The room was spacious and the large circular shower with two rain shower heads was structurally part of the turret roof as seen on the right side of the house from the street. The room was bright.|The selection of coffee, teas, and packaged snacks were appreciated.|The dual rain shower heads were unique, but only one furnished hot water. Based on the darker grout on the working shower it appears the one on the left is never used and produced only cold water.|When we arrived there were multiple dead flies on the floor especially in the bathroom. The next day we asked the cleaning person to take care of them and she did. |The circular hand towel holder in the bathroom came off the wall with our first

First, staying here is an experience not just a place to stay. Exceptionally clean and well appointed 1890s home. Thoughtfully appointed is a better way to describe the condition. By experience I mean you are transported to the Victorian period. The rooms are historically accurate and very comfortable. We were there for a 4 night stay with temperatures falling to the teens at night and the house stayed warm and comfortable. A testament to the care and design of the house and HVAC system. We live in a 1760s home and I was impressed. The grounds are well kept with propane fire pits and an outdoor fireplace. I especially enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and the wood that was provided. Downtown Staunton is about a 10 minute walk. A fairly easy walk even with a bad knee. The

Could not recommend the Oakdene Inn enough. An absolutely lovely experience. The inn and property is exceptionally beautiful and well maintained, modern yet still holding onto its classic features and charm. The bed was SO comfortable, felt like we were sleeping on a cloud. Amenities are great, an eye mask was provided, which was such a nice surprise. We stayed in the Commonwealth Suite and it was so nice having the extra sitting space and private porch - would be perfect for a couple with a couple kids, or if you are working remotely and need a separate space. Walking distance to downtown. The managers were easy to communicate with and very responsive. Have already recommended to numerous people, and will continue to do so.

This place is incredible! From the architecture to the decor to the comfort and amenities, it is now my go-to when visiting Staunton. My husband and I stayed in the Echols Suite which features a gorgeous clawfoot tub and a sleeping porch. The chairs next to the fireplace in the turret were sooo comfortable and perfect for reading. And speaking of comfort, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! The suite is very large but also manages to feel cozy and romantic. The glass-enclosed porch is wonderful for enjoying a book, a snack, a great conversation and stargazing. The furniture needs thicker cushions but we improvised with the plushy pillows from the bed. We really appreciated the lighted mirrors in the bathroom and the oversized shower. Downstairs, the lounge is also very comfortable a
