Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Staunton

Not a bad experience overall. I loved the variety at breakfast. However, our room had empty bottles of shampoo and body wash when checking in and it took a bit of back and forth to get it figured out

The staff were absolutely incredible in helping us book a last minute reservation when we had to leave our previously reserved hotel due to safety/cleanliness issues. The staff were so kind and very helpful day and night. The rooms and hotel are spotless, everything even smelled super clean and fresh. The rooms were great, the pool and back deck area are wonderful, especially for families. We will absolutely be staying here for all our future visits to Staunton! The healthcare worker discounted rate was also so appreciated. We had no complaints or issues, loved our entire stay! 10/10 - we absolutely recommend this hotel!

Checked in on Sunday night. Had called earlier for an upgrade and was told that I could only get one when I checked into the hotel. When I got to the hotel, they told me no upgrade was available for an entire week. Furniture in the room is worn. Internet does not connect. Phone does not work. Light out on bedside lamp. Was told housekeeping would be every other day. No housekeeping on Tuesday. Requested it on Wednesday. Not done by 6 PM Wednesday. Told they would be working on it. As a gold Marriott member I expect better and this facility seems to succeed only because of its close proximity to the interstate. Definitely would not recommend this Marriott property.

1st world problems. The bathroom was sus. Toilet paper doesn’t roll on the holder. . It sounds trivial but pulling it off square by square while the roll is fighting for its life isn’t that fun. Shower needs some bleach, shower head needs some scrubbing. Breakfast was amazing and so was the woman working the breakfast. Gym is solid. I’d stay at this hotel again, I would just take the TP off of the roller this time.

Poor: I remade the bed. Mattress cover was lumpy. It had been put on sideways and elastic straps were stretched out so they didn’t secure the cover (tied knots in each corner to secure). Bottom sheet old and elastic stretched. Mattress and pillows were still okay but wearing out. |Man checking us in said he was unable to change my credit card. No attempt at friendliness. |Good restaurants were not close.|Good: Woman checking us out the next morning was very friendly and did change the card used for payment. |One of the breakfast women was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast choices were better than usual and included fresh berries.|Easy in and out.
