Quality Inn & Suites York East

I was happy with how much space was in the suite rooms. However, I wasn’t too thrilled with the cleanliness of the rooms, you could tell it wasn’t vacuumed, had some candy wrappers on the floor, dead spiders in the bathtub. The people were nice that worked here, also I wasn’t too happy because I requested a crib they insured they had, but it was a pac and play instead. I wouldn’t call this place a hotel, it’s a motel. One night we stayed, people were loud. Breakfast was good, I would stay again!

Room was clean and supplies, like shampoo, conditioner etc, were well stocked. We liked we could park right out side our door. The reservation desk was efficient and polite. The breakfast served was hot and well stocked. But the choices were limited. Perhaps fried potatoes to go with the eggs? The eggs were a bit over cooked all three mornings according to my husband. They were quite dry but edible. All in all we would certainly stay there again if we happen to be in the area. And an added bonus—There is a Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel and you get a discount if you are a guest. The food was very good!

Let this serve as a formal review of the “Quality Inn”, which was anything but quality. To keep it brief: our room was freezing, we encountered roaches (including one in my bed), and the bathtub was coated in yellow debris. For those who want more detail: despite running the heat at full blast for over an hour and a half, the room remained at 65 degrees. We asked two staff members about switching rooms, as the space simply wasn’t warming up, but were told that all rooms were the same. We accepted this, hoping the room would eventually heat up. When I went to shower, I decided against it after noticing the tub was covered in what appeared to be dirty, yellow residue. When I arrived to my room there was no heat on and the room was 50 degrees. I turned in the heater up to 84 degrees and it wasn’t working properly. I called around 10 PM to request an extra blanket and notified the front desk that the thermostat was only reading 54 degrees. She told me she would bring me a blanket. I attempted to fall asleep and was unable to because of the cold. I called again around 1230 AM and requested a blanket again. The man at the from desk said that he was aware that I had requested a blanket but that it was 1100PM when he has come on shift and the previous front desk representative didn’t know where the blankets were. This hotel was booked FOR me through a group event. Upon arrival, the hotel did not have any hot water. The woman who checked me in did inform me that it would be fixed in the next hour and a half, but it was not. The room was small, definitely more of a motel vibe. There were issues with the rooms within my group (hair in the sheets, mold in bathroom, etc.) my room was overall fine. However it definitely did not feel secure given the area and other clientele. I go to check out early to switch hotels since I am a woman by myself in a sketchy place, I did not feel safe. Also I had found a hair in my eggs while eating breakfast.
