Homewood Suites by Hilton York

The location was fine and the room was very spacious and appeared to be clean but had a very strong odor of ammonia. The price of the suite was fair and came with a great breakfast that was arranged by two very personable ladies Angel and Danielle. The front desk attendant Modesta was very friendly and knowledgable of the surrounding area for places to dine. I could have given 5 stars but the odor of the room and the very inconsiderate non english speaking woman next door that was in and out of the room slamming the door until midnight was terrible.

This was one of the most misleading and unpleasant hotel stays I’ve experienced. The room did not match the photos or the description at all. It smelled as soon as I walked in, there was hair left in the shower, the surfaces were dusty, and there was a visible stain on the blanket. The hallways also smelled and had trash sitting out from other guests, which made the entire property feel dirty. The toilet barely flushed, and the overall condition of the room showed a clear lack of maintenance and cleanliness. What made the situation even more frustrating was the follow-up call from the manager, Fatima. Instead of addressing the issues, she told me there was nothing they could do as far as compensation because I booked through Booking.com. She also claimed the room I was given was an “upg

Such a well laid out and well appointed experience. Everything i needed was right there. Extra kudos to the woman who checked me in...she was so thoughtful. In fact, all the staff was attentive. One note, the shower curtain needs to be replaced and is too short. But that's so minor! I've stayed in 35 hotel nights in the past 6 weeks and this was by FAR the best facility. We'll done!

Positive: We loved the basketball court and courtyard area. The lobby was great for spending time with the folks we were traveling this. Negative: The lighting in the room was not soft enough. Very harsh light bulbs that gave the room a cold feel.

I absolutely love this hotel and the people and staff that run it. I was located in a room that had a lot of traffic and children and even on an overbooked weekend the manager made it possible and moved me and my husband to a quiet area. The breakfast is always fresh and the staff making it so such a great job. The rooms are always clean. I have stayed here 4-5 times now and I have never had a bad experience. This is the hotel to visit.
