Quality Inn Gaylord

I needed a place to stay for one night that would be budget friendly due to a family emergency. I called and made a reservation over the phone day of and got a room for a decent price knowing that the hotel was going to be pretty full on 2-13-26. When we arrived vehicles were parked all sorts of ways, trailers were unhitched and using a parking spot, snowmobiles were off trailers taking more parking spots, the driveway around the building was blocked by vehicles so I had to maneuver my car to turn around. When we got inside to our room there was a prominent smell, and then you could hear what sounded like a heavy rain inside the room (#211). The air conditioner was on and set at 61 degrees. I went to turn it off and the water started dripping on me. I looked up and the curtain was soaked,

Good value. We reserved a suite with one king and two Queens. The suite turned out to be adjoining rooms. Totally worth it for what we paid. The rooms seemed partially updated. New carpet, new paint, new furniture, but the mattresses were still old. You had to wedge the bathroom door just so so it would shut. The bathroom counter was new. Our room smelled fine and the kids room smelled of cleaning supplies. The continental breakfast was pretty good, but just one waffle maker so if you want waffles be sure to get there in good time. The pool area was nice. The hot tub was hot but it was also a little cloudy. Over all a good stay.

This hotel need an upgrade and things fixed. Base boards damaged, tub with chips, desk light didn't work, ceiling tiles missing in bathroom, it just did not smell good. Was overpriced for what we got. Pretty much only carbs for breakfast. I was disappointed.

The front desk double checked our room out to someone else after we were already in the room and paid for it. We were laying in bed about to sleep at 10 at night and they tried to enter our room... another guest and employee with a key. Thankfully I put the second lock on the door or they would have saw my naked husband. Then there was a cockroach in the room, which we had to put all our belongings in the bathroom with the lights on to not get cockroaches in our stuff. It was too late to check out so we had to keep all the lights on preventing us from getting cockroaches on us and a good night sleep..Then the contractor in the room next door had their alarm going off at 4am and every 5 minutes until 5am.. so clear it sounded like it was in our room. We stay here when we snowmobile the area. It's cheap and clean, and the breakfast is pretty good. Most of the rooms have been updated. I've not used the pool but it looks nice
