Powell Place

The apartment was clean, spacious and well appointed, the period furnishngs matched the vibe of the venue. It is located at the top of the hill on Powell Street, with easy direct walking access to visit absolutely every site in San Francisco. The reception staff were friendly and accommodating, our apartment was on the 2nd floor (no lift) at the front of the building. The trolley bus runs across the front of the apartment 0700 - 2200 and you could hear it quite clearly. We had the best time here and would recommend it (if you are able to walk the hills!)

We own a timeshare here and every year, someone in our family stays here. The excitement and historic air of San Francisco is everywhere here. From the most famous streetcar stopping right out front of Powell Place to the restaurants, theaters, and architecture everywhere. BUY a Muni multiplass for the week $43 ea. It pays off immediately because riding the Powell st streetcar is $9 ea/ per ride. Use Google Maps to navigate streetcars, trolleys, and BART trains to Fisherman’s wharf, Pier 39, Castro district, Golden Gate Bridge, park, museum, theaters and more! It’s confusing at first, but soon you ride like a local. So fun! If it’s raining, try a Waymo robot car, most times, cheap and easy! Again, right out front of Powell Place. Well located hotel. Rooms in need of a makeover but generally comfortable and have everything you may need as a short term visitor. Untidy entrance, especially office does not give a great first impression and the gentleman on the front desk was particularly unhelpful and unfriendly when we arrived.

Absolutely unprofessional staff at this property from the general manger to a front desk representative. When a concern regarding safety was presented to the front desk and the general manager it was met with rudeness and scepticism which was shocking. This would not be a location that I would ever recommend and will continue to share this unpleasant experience via social media

It is on a slope... Unless you take the cable car, will be challenging to climb up and down daily. Location is good as you hit union square down the hill.
