Pelican Motel

This was hands down the WORST place I have ever stayed, and I am not a picky person. Smelled like cigarettes, you could see the outside through the cracks between the door and the frame. Sheets on the bed were 2 flat sheets and a questionable comforter, GIANT cobwebs in all corners of the ceiling, dirt piles in the corners of the floor. The list goes on. ||||We went for a small shopping trip and we wouldn't bring our purchases in the room because we were terrified of everything becoming infested with bed bugs. We did not see any bugs during our stay. ||||I would avoid this place at all costs.

Well at the Pelican Motel the room really bad I don't know how to describe it it just was very unpleasant. From inside the room the traffic noise regardless of the time was extremely Loud. Because I was there in April it was chilly outside, although there's a thermostat in the room it did not control the heat. I would venture to say it was just there to provide an illusion of control. But the most annoying thing you will experience is the light shining through the windows at night because the blinds that they provide do not help very much if at all from the light outside. Overall I would say it was my worst experience at any hotel/ motel and wouldn't recommend it to any one.

Got there at midnight and Didn’t look “THAT”bad from the side of the road so we got a two bedroom suite without reading reviews (big mistake) the place is dirty! Holes on the sheets, broken blinds in the bathroom were you could see the parking and the other rooms on the back, AC settings don’t work was ON only, didn’t see any bed bugs but we ran out of there in the morning so who knows. And KFC right next door horrible service too! Never again!

I knew this was a cut-rate place but really ??? The arms of the chair are lose and broken. The door had a crack about 2 inches wide (you could see day-light). Traffic noise is awful (location problem), finish on inside of the tub was peeling, interior door to where ? had large holes in it. carpet dirty. Clean sheetes but no mattress pads on beds for added comfort. I had to call to get checked in and I had a 10 minute wait. No one on property for assistance if emergency arises. I understand "budget" motels but this is the low of the low....

I'm not a picky person. I understand and can deal with staying at a bare-bones room. I wasn't expecting a palace but I was expecting a lot more than what we experienced at this place! I booked this place based on the three most recent reviews which were quite positive and current. Now I have to wonder if these reviews are genuine. ||||The negative reviews were from last year and older while the positive ones were just within the last few months and so I thought that perhaps the motel had done some renos. I'm not sure where the pictures on the website came on but our room certainly didn't look like those pictures!
