Wanderfalls Guesthouse & Hostel

We booked a private room in our two days stay. As soon as we arrived, the staff was there to check us in. After the check in, to my surprise, she gave us a map and sat down with us to explain the routes we should take to the main attractions during day and night, and how to reach the bus stop and grocery store. That was something we didn't really expect from the staff even without asking. We felt extremely welcomed. The pancakes were the best I've ever had. The secured entrance was nice. The room and baths were clean. Its just a mile walk to the falls which was great. I recommend the place and would stay there again whenever I visit next.

This is a very quaint place. Checking in is super easy. You have a code to get in, an instruction manual at your bedside, and everything is in place. The bed was very comfortable, bedding was nice, there was a small fan on the chair that actually worked well for the size! We didn't use the common area or the kitchen, got there at 10pm'ish, so just there to sleep and shower really, but having it available is nice. It suited our needs well!

The hostel is a vintage house with four private rooms up in the second floor. Clean and neat through out the whole place. Convenient location and close to Amtrak station, bus station and falls (all within less than 20 minutes walking distance). There are paved trails on the riverside connect the hostel to all those locations. The supermarket, Tops is less than 10 minutes walking distance away. Canada isn't too far away by walking distance either. There is a pedestrian passage on the Rainbow Bridge. It's a pleasure to meet the owner, Carroll in person and chatted a little by chance. In here, also has the pleasure to meet and chat with Tom from Poland, Christine from Germany and Olivia from Denmark.

This was my first visit to USA and I generally don't give reviews. But the experience I got in this place was so welcoming and pleasant that I had to share my feelings. It was like a gateway for a whole new experience and culture for me and it couldn't have got better than this. It's a old house with lot of instructions and a host cannot get clearer than this about things. Very professional and personal at same time. I loved the concept of shared kitchen and shared common spaces. Sharing bathrooms were bit challenging since I was with family and a kid, but no big deal for couple of days. They have policy of no children under 5 which is not mentioned on most booking websites and one has to be beware of this! Clean and homey hostel in an old house, feels like staying with grands. Kitchen is very well equipped and has a lovely sunny backyard. Friendly owners/worker who provided superb information. A wonderful stay. Note that it’s not super near to the falls, but we appreciate the quiet and are happy to be away from the chaos. The free shuttle bus stops nearby their place, so not a huge problem in terms of moving around. They have two washroom but one is at the basement. A bit of a wait in the morning. Rooms are all upstairs. Not good for people with knee problem.
