Omni Richmond Hotel

Pretty nice hotel overall. Rooms and bathrooms are clean. Nice location in Richmond. Beware that it is a very noisy hotel. There is almost no soundproofing between rooms. If you happen to have someone in a room next to you, you will be able to hear entire conversations clearly through the walls. Also, the elevator pulleys make a constant squeaking sound that you can hear in the room. If you come, pack earplugs.

Positive: Excellent service and very convenient. Negative: There needs to be electrical plugs on the night stand. We had to move the mattress to reach the electrical plug for our Cpap machines.

Our family visited Richmond and wanted a hotel with a pool in a central location. This for the bill as it was clean and convenient. We loved the pool, and the water was warm, for December that was perfect. We did not like the parking situation - it is $40 to park at the hotel..there are parking lots nearby but they don't all have typically in and out privileges (which means you have to pay $20 ticket every time you enter). I ended up finding an affordable parking but had to walk 4 blocks and the Downtown area is pretty deserted at night - we never saw people walking at all. So if we stay again, I would either pay for parking at the hotel or use the street parking at Shockoe slip neighborhood (which is free after 6pm). Also, I wouldn't recommend the breakfast option at the hotel. Breakfast

Great staff provided me with a wonderful experience. I might classify as 3-star, instead of a 4-star hotel. The plumbing is old, and the large windows (which I did love) provided a draft, but I was able to turn up the thermostat so that I was comfortable. Watch out for the hot water, which is scalding (and I neglected to report). Breakfast was pricey ($40 with the tip), but I did order a lot, and the wait person was friendly and professional. The hotel is adjoined with a business center which was immaculate and beautifully decorated for the holidays. Great location near the capitol, and right across from The Tobacco Company restaurant, which served Thanksgiving dinner without a reservation. The hotel staff was phenomenal. I called ahead to ask about my dog and the housekeeping staff left a really personal note and a dog toy in our room. Everyone in the hotel was super nice and anxious to help. I was there for the Richmond Marathon and my only complaint was the price of the pre-race dinner was very expensive for a pasta buffet which was nothing special. Room was nice but they do need to add outlets on the bedside tables to charge phones. Otherwise it was a really nice stay.
