Normandy Motel

We were just passing through all the way from Montana back to NYC and “unfortunately” our overnight stop fell on the tourists area on Labor day’s eve. I should’ve been more preventive and see this coming. It was too late to drive around and look more, everything was either booked up or $180 (first motel on the way with a “vacancy” sign on). Normandy was the second motel (after many many “no vacancy”) on our way that had a “vacancy” sign, price was $150 (with all fees) so we stayed. I was very upset to pay double just because “wrong place wrong time”. With all due respect, we have more than enough bridges and big water in Queens, I love the area but we were just passing. Anyways, the owner was very friendly, he is an actual “born and raised” American, which is very rare nowadays in the hote

Impromptu visit to the UP left us little choice on where to stay. They had a vacancy so we took it. It's no frills outdated run down but comfortable enough. The beds are old wire framed mattresses that creak and bounce. The walls are very thin to where you can hear conversation in the next rooms. If you have mobility issues be aware there may be 3 big steps up to enter unit. No coffee pot or microwave but there is a small fridge and the shower was sufficient. Owners seem very nice. It's right next door to an awesome Cafe. No veiw of water.|

Big rooms, clean & quiet. Service = amazing! The owners are very kind & generous + they were happy to accommodate me. I would recommend staying at the Normandy Motel. :) P.S. I have read the reviews about bed bugs, but I didn't find any bed bugs in my room.

We always stop at Normandy when we take trips to the U.P. The owner is on-site and takes great care of the property. He always is accommodating, friendly and helpful. The hotel is older, but the main thing is its CLEAN. the price point is amazing, the rooms are spacious and the location is the best. You could walk to the restraunt and stores. Never been disappointed!! Thank you Elvis from Craig and the Lawmen!!

Rooms are dated but clean. The owner was friendly and helpful. No bed bugs as stated in other reviews. I'll definitely be back on my next trip through
