Moxy Richmond Downtown

This was a great stay for our family of 3. Unique room layout felt more roomy than your typical hotel room. Staff was fantastic all along the way. Location was good. We walked to a few restaurants and the capital. I wouldn’t say that this was in the heart of everything that Richmond has to offer, but we unfortunately weren’t dressed for the weather to explore a bit further than a few blocks. We hope to be back at some point!

I stayed at the Moxy for my wedding event that was taking place downtown Richmond. Every part of my stay was excellent. The room was beautifully decorated, warm and quaint. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and upbeat! I want to give a huge shoutout to Jerome who works valet. He took excellent care of me and my vehicle. He kindly and patiently worked with me explaining the process and assisting me with all my bags and wedding gifts. His warm smile and personality was calming in a moment where I was busy and frantic. lol. Thank you all for a wonderful weekend. I will be sure to stay again!

I stayed here for my first solo trip, and honestly? It felt less like a hotel and more like stumbling into a tiny, chaotic, wonderful community that somehow adopted me for the weekend. The service was unreal—every single person I interacted with was warm, funny, and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. The staff wasn’t just helpful; they were a whole vibe. The rooms? Gorgeous. Clean, modern, and just the right amount of “cool without trying too hard.” And the lobby… listen. I could’ve lived there. It’s the kind of space where you can sip a drink, people‑watch, journal dramatically, or make friends without even meaning to. As a solo female traveler, I felt so safe and so cared for. Not in a corporate, scripted way—more like the universe dropped me into the right place at the right time.

This is the third time that I have stayed at this particular Moxy and it is just disappointing that each time the coffee bar is not kept up. The first time there was not any regular coffee and when I asked about it I was told they ran out. The second time and this morning the regular coffee urn was empty and so were ALL of the cream, coconut milk, milk offerings. The first 2 times this happened I thought it was probably a fluke since this is a Marriot property but now I know that it this particular site.

OMG!!! Love Moxy entire vibe/ outstanding friendly staff! Loved our check in chick Friday Jan 30, 2026… sorry did not get her name. Sooo friendly, so personable and love MELLOW we saw Saturday 1/31/26!!!! Love the * STASH* room where one can get toothpaste/ toothbrush/ towels/ ice bin/ irons/ iron board/ shave kits/ lotions!!! GENIUS!!! Loved the cute bunk beds in my room with King size bed~ no complaints at the smallness of the room. Love the little nook rooms lobby level you can hang at. Love the color blue on the hallways!!! Thank you Moxy for a great experience! Hitting the bar soon!
