Motel 6 Harrisonburg, VA - South

Not bad for a two-star motel, but not as well maintained as other Motel 6 properties I’ve stayed at. The bed was comfortable and clean. Towels were clean. The bathroom was clean. Tile floors throughout. The mini fridge was a good size, and the freezer refroze my cooler pack; the fridge was clean, but the freezer interior wasn’t. The sink and shower were clean, but neither drained properly. The shower curtain was in poor condition, likely months past needing replacement. The deadbolt was present but clearly broken and although I had a non smoking room it smelled like that wasn’t always the case.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Manager is the rudest most condescending person I have ever come into contact w at a hotel facility. Loud noises above us waking us out of a dead sleep at 1130pm. Drove up to front desk to complain, they said they would fix the problem. Nope continued until 1:30 pm. Spoke w manager in morning, requested a refund. He refused, told me it should be expected because I was on first floor! So now I guess if you stay on first floor you aren't supposed to sleep after traveling 9 hours!! I also requested to speak w his supervisor, he refused and said he owned all Motel 6 properties. Condescending because I am a female. Refused all of my requests. Pretty sad when all you want is a good night's rest, do NOT STAY HERE

This was one of three Motel 6 stays over the course of a road trip with my dog. It was not great at all. The room was not renovated and it smelled musty, although I do think some of the rooms were. There seem to be many long term residents here, some of whom were exhibiting disturbing behavior. My room was located in a secluded spot in the rear and I definitely questioned my safety as a woman alone. Perhaps, my experience would have been better had I been in a spot that felt safer. I did have a problem with water in the floor upon arrival and the staff responsed quickly.

Positive: Clean, simple, quiet, and a good shower! Our room was located immediately beside the office, and a good room for the price in comparison to other area motels! Negative: There was NO counter space, inside or outside the bathroom. Towel quality was marginal. The check-in staff did not inform us that coffee would be available the next morning. We went down the road to a 7-Eleven to get our java.

Absolutely loved our stay at this Motel 6! Great location, inside rooms, very well lit and helpful staff. No breakfast, but great coffee from 6-10 am. Plan to stay here every time we head North.
