Monarch Valley Inn Marina at Monterey Bay

The place was a little hard to find since we didn’t see any signs. It’s part of the Gulf gas station. They were under going some renovations but our rooms were pretty clean. I definitely enjoyed the vent and window combo in the bathroom. Floor was clean since it was laminated flooring and not carpet. It also came with a good size refrigerator and microwave. Check in and out was smooth. It does get a little noisy with the traffic off Reservation Road. Pricing wasn’t bad. Not sure if it was due to the time of year or that is the average price . But overall we definitely would stay there again.

We have stayed here at least 5 times in the past 4-5 years. The first two stays were lovely. We drive from SD and we had gotten in late but they were welcoming and allowed us to come in the store, grab some waters and snacks etc. We had a great stay those first two times. The past three visits, have gotten progressively worse. Oddly, there has been a large black fly in the room the last three visits, no biggie, but odd. Noise/Smell - Three visits ago, the guest next to us fell asleep with his tv BLASTING and kept us up all night. When it wasn't the tv, is was the insanely loud snoring. The last visit, we were in an upstairs room surrounded by a group that came in on a bus. They ran back-and-forth between rooms all night cooking the smelliest greasiest meats. Our whole room smelled horrific

We did not end up staying at this particular hotel. Upon our arrival, we noticed that the appearance differed from our expectations. The building is painted in white and blue/gray tones, and there were no prominent signs displaying the hotel's name, apart from an older sign leaning against a side wall, which was not easily visible. The check-in process was located inside a gas station situated in the parking lot, directly in front of the hotel. The property itself resembled a very small apartment complex ,As we did not proceed with checking in, we are unable to provide any comments regarding the rooms.

The accommodations were impressive, with a spacious and well-maintained room that was both clean and comfortable, creating a restful and pleasant atmosphere. The attention to cleanliness and upkeep was evident, which enhanced our overall sense of relaxation.One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. They were consistently friendly, courteous, and attentive to our needs, ensuring that we felt welcome and well taken care of throughout our visit. Their warm hospitality contributed significantly to our positive impression of the hotel.Additionally, the hotel’s location proved to be highly convenient. Situated near various dining options and shopping centers, it allowed for easy access to essentials, making our trip more convenient and enjoyable.

Had a great stay. Room was clean, the young man at service was friendly, hot water was instant. Its directly next to a gas station which is convenient. I thought it would be louder because of that but neither of us woke up to any noise. 10/10 would stay again
